He has entered a number of images in the monthly competition over the last two years and has

received several Bronze and Silver awards.  Des placed 2nd and 3rd overall in the weekly photography

competitions with such work as his commercial picture of damaged aircraft turbine blades.

Des attended the Fly Navy 100 event held onboard HMS Illustrious in Liverpool to 

celebrate the centenary of Naval Aviation, one the images was selected by Navy News for
